Deze woningen maakten in de oorlog deel uit van de zgn. Fliegerhorst. Dat was een over een groot gebied verspreid aantal kazernes, bunkers en officiers- en manschappenverblijven rond de vliegbasis, veelal vermomd als gewone woonhuizen, boerderijen of zelfs als molen. Deze Duitse woningen aan de Noord Brabantlaan zijn later door Philips opgesplitst en verbouwd tot eengezinswoningen.
