McDonald's Coolsingel
General
Het gebouwvolume van McDonalds aan de Coolsingel in Rotterdam is zo getailleerd en geleed dat het achtergelegen monumentale postkantoor zichtbaar is.
Mei architects and planners ontwierp het gebouw met de compacte kern en glazen gevel van 6,20 meter hoge, ontkleurde glaspanelen.
Er is gekozen voor uitvoering in één materiaal: goudkleurig geanodiseerd aluminium. Dit warm en chique ogende materiaal is tegelijkertijd ook hufterproof en duurzaam.
Het project won categorie Architectuur van de Iconic Awards 2015- ‘the whole world of architecture’, een internationale Architectuur en Design prijs voor architecten en ontwerpers, uitgeschreven door de German Design Council.
