Op het terrein van het Beatrix Ziekenhuis is een verpleeghuis (door EGM Architecten) gebouwd. Het verpleeghuis is in zichzelf bijna een mediterraan dorpje, met pleintjes, patio’s, tuinen en een arboretum. Het landschapsontwerp is van Rijnboutt. Door de stroken tussen het verpleeghuis en de garage enerzijds en het ziekenhuis anderzijds als verlengde van het park te maken wordt de locatie een eenheid met het aangrenzende stadspark.
