General
A geodesic dome, diameter of 56 meters, forms the roof of Euro- pe’s largest indoor playgarden. In the center of the dome a starshaped rooflight provides lots of natural light in the building. The domes accommodates 2.500 m2 of playgarden, catering, a theatre and congress hall.
Lüning Consulting Engineers was lead engineer for the timber structure. In this function Lüning took care of the principal design and calcu- lations of the dome. The detailled design was produced by Lüning too. Besides engineering Lüning also supplied the complete timber structure, including the steel con- nectors. Directed by engineers of Lüning, the dome was construc- ted by employees of GaiaZoo.
