In dit gebouw wordt onderzoek gedaan naar elektromagnetische straling in kooien van Faraday. Het dichte karakter van die kooien wordt aan de buitenzijde verzacht door de toepassing van een huid van zwart glas. Dit beeldt enerzijds mooi de geslotenheid van de onderzoeksruimtes uit en anderzijds suggereert het een zekere mate van transparantie. Een betere architectonische expressie van de zwarte doos kun je je bijna niet voorstellen.
