Dit zeer beeldbepalende gebouw mag gelukkig op steeds meer bewondering rekenen. Het is in twee fasen gebouwd. Eerst het luchtige rechterdeel met de markante dakopbouw en daarna en meer gesloten linker volume, dat er voor zorgde dat het eerste deel nog beter tot zijn recht kwam. Het rechterdeel is overigens pas kortgeleden geheel van zijn betonnen gevelbekleding ontdaan. De nieuwe natuurstenen bekleding heeft dezelfde zwaarte, maar mist de schaduwwerking die in de oorspronkelijke situatie werd opgeroepen door dwars geplaatste betonelementen ter plaatse van sommige ramen.
