Dit plan zorgde in het begin voor commotie in de buurt: het zou niet passen. Toch voegt het huis zich door zijn rustige architectuur moeiteloos in de omgeving, ondanks zijn zeer afwijkende bouwmethode. Dit huis is namelijk geheel van staal, al zijn de dichte segmenten van voor- en achtergevel aan de buitenzijde gestuct.
Binnen is het echter allemaal staal wat de klok slaat en pas daar is de grote ruimtelijkheid zichtbaar.
