The Style Outlets
General
Amsterdam The Style Outlets is NEINVER’s first outlet mall in the Netherlands. The building stands in SugarCity, on the grounds of the former sugar factory in Halfweg. This location – situated between Haarlem and Amsterdam – has been undergoing a transformation into a multifunctional urban area since 2000.
Soeters van Eldonk received the commission to design the outlet mall from NEINVER, a major investor and manager of outlet malls throughout Europe. The Halfweg project boasts 18,000 m2 of floor space, complimented by 1,000 m2 of restaurants and cafés. It will be built on the roof of a two-storey parking structure; the plans call for the construction of 1,450 parking spaces.
Where construction cost management is concerned, bbn has been involved in the planning process of this project since 2014. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2017. After an extensive selection procedure, bbn has won the contract for:
• Contract settlement / start of construction with the contractor (de Nijs)
• Financial guidance
• Project management
• Construction management and Supervision
• Tenant support / desires of the tenant
• Management of drawings
Neinver has selected bbn adviseurs because, in addition to a solid and experienced construction manager/supervisor/adviser/tenant support agency, Neinver was also looking for a dependable partner who could effectively represent foreign clients here in the Netherlands. This entails reliably representing the company's interests in the Netherlands, but also helping the client to navigate Dutch habits and customs with regard to the realisation of a construction project. The working language for this project is English (when necessary) and Dutch whenever possible.
