Galaxy Soho

General
The Galaxy Soho building exists out of four main structures which are connected with a continuous flow of curving bridges. The whole design, by Zaha Hadid, is centred around the idea to create a fluid panoramic architecture without any corners or sudden transitions. Everything flows into anything and these main volumes thereby create fluid environments that surround numerous courtyards. These courts are a reflection of traditional Chinese Architecture which gives deeper meanings to open courtyards in traditional Chinese designs. In this design, Zaha combined this traditional Chinese aspect with a continuous flow of different volumes to emphasise the deep sense of immersion and envelopment. The exterior of this design is clad in stone and aluminium which gives the building an extra soft and fluid look. The interior design features glass, stainless steel, glass reinforced gypsum and terrazzo.
